Evenin’ all,
Here in this part of the world it’s Halloween, otherwise known as NaNoWriMo Eve. For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s National Novel Writing Month, which is now a global event. Those crazies amongst us are going to attempt to write 50,000 words during the month of November. NaNoWriMo is a riot, whether you “win” at it or not.
Last year’s NaNo turned out to be a really important event for me not just because I wrote 50,000 words and got a spiffy t-shirt but because it reminded me of why I love writing, and re-ignited the creative spark that had been in danger of being buried by the onslaught or everyday life.
This year’s NaNo also comes at a time when real life has been a bit of a roller-coaster ride and I need a kick up the arse to get said arse into gear again. So even though I have a billion other things to do, I am making room for a billion and one.
So, if you think you might just be crazy enough to attempt this, come and be my writing buddy on the NaNoWriMo website. My username is Jhakka. Original, huh?
Bring it on.
Cheers!! JT.
